Croatia, Slovenia and Italy to establish a North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley
Croatia’s State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Ivo Milatić emphasised that it is an important step toward the establishment and strengthening of the hydrogen-based economy in the country. In addition, the creation of the North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley will enable the promotion of the potential of hydrogen technologies in order to attract investment and ensure a value chain from hydrogen production to hydrogen use.
“Today we are laying the foundations for a model of more sustainable development in an extended territorial area at the heart of Central and Eastern Europe,” said Massimiliano Fedriga, President of Friuli Venezia Giulia region. “This model aims to cover all segments of the hydrogen chain, from production to storage, transport and distribution for the benefit of different categories of users and many more sectors.”
Indeed, regional cooperation will have effects on the following sectors: energy, industry and transport. Innovative cross-border projects will also be established so to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen technologies. Finally, the letter of intent also includes the installation of hydrogen filling stations for the transport sector.
